Whelp, funnily enough shortly after I made my last journal about going on a hiatus, the whole AI shitshow happened on here.

Some of you may have noticed, but I put a lot of my art into storage to protect my work from being used in the AI art generator.

Since deviantART unsurprisingly received a ton of backlash from angry members on here, they ended up thankfully listening to their community for once and automatically changed every member's post to be "opted out" for being used in any AI art generator.

I, however, am still unhappy. As I mentioned in my last journal, deviantART has gotten harder and harder for me to want to post on/be active on as a platform due to stolen art & NFTs constantly getting on the featured page, their useless reporting system that continues to let people who abuse guidelines to go on without punishment, their poor filtering system that seems to disregard any clearly graphic NSFW art, but the AI generator stunt was the final nail in the coffin of this already dying website.

And yes, I'm well aware that they went back on it after they pissed off the entire community, but it still doesn't really make up for everything else.

This huge blemish on their part has only further cemented the fact that this place is not a safe or positive environment anymore for artists. And for that, I've decided it's time to finally leave this place after being on here for 10 years.

I'm not deleting my account(though I have considered it), but I will no longer be posting any art or journal entries. I will keep some previous art posts up for historic reasons, but that is all. I still actively post on instagram, tumblr, and ko-fi, and today I made an account on Inkblot art and Pixiv as potential replacements for deviantART.

Edit: I have changed my mind and decided to put every piece of art away in storage. I came across an upsetting yet insightful post by KaiMacTrash that explains how the op-out feature doesn't truly protect your art from being used in AI generators. Not sure how many people will actually read this since after I announced I removed all my art and was leaving for good, I lost over 20 followers. But I felt like making a journal entry for the hell of it.

Nowadays I'm still drawing art and did a couple of commission work semi-recently. Though for the most part I've been busy either with my full time job, going to taekwondo, gaming & chatting with friends, spending time with my boyfriend, and writing more for my original characters to actually get a story off the ground running. As of lately I've been super into developing the Misfit Mash way more and hope to finish the rough draft of Act 1 sometime later this year. Show wise I've finished all of Breaking Bad and I've been watching The Last of Us with my boyfriend. Game wise, I still love omori(though I try to avoid the fandom), and I've recently picked up on playing Jet Set Radio and Pizza Tower. Both are extremely fun! :)

Despite no longer posting on here I still like to quietly lurk on the sidelines and support other homies who for some reason still willingly post on this website. Speaking of, I've noticed lots of other users who were claiming to leave deviantART as a platform for good made a return and started posting their work regularly again. I'm in no way trying to be judgmental, but I am genuinely perplexed and curious as to why that is.

Did this place genuinely get any better while I was gone? Because last time I heard people were still pissed about the whole AI shitshow, stolen art getting posted on the featured page without punishment, scammers running rampant from profile to profile, and bot accounts sending suspicious links via comments or notes.

This website has shown me that in recent years it did not care for its userbase in the slightest due to all of these issues worsening for a while without any real action being taken against them. If this website actually started listening to its members I would LOVE to know all the details. Or if people just came back since old habits die hard, then ah, it is what it is.

Good morning/afternoon/evening guys.

I was a little reluctant on making a journal entry about this, but these feelings I've been having are not going away anytime soon so I figured I'd get it off my chest.

It is becoming increasingly harder to want to post my art on this website every time I check in. I've bitched and moaned about stuff going on with deviantART before in previous posts, but it just keeps getting worse and worse. From seeing stolen art constantly getting on the featured page, to art trade scammers & spammers getting away with tricking others due to a very inactive/apathetic staff disregarding reports, NFTs(yes I've seen some of the ugly ass bored ape NFTs on here and it sickens me), and of course all of the god damn fetish miners/creeps I see harassing minors into drawing their kinks on a daily basis.

Normally when I see problematic & devious shit I try to take action and call it out, make others aware so that people can be careful. But with how little the staff & moderators seem to care on here lately, it's been super discouraging. Social media in general has a lot of toxicity and bad parts to it, but these issues with DA have been getting worse and worse and I honestly don't know how much more I can take, especially with the knowledge that there's nothing I can do about it to make my experience on this website a more safe and better place.

I don't know if I want to leave this place for good quite yet, because I have a long history here and I've met and talked to some very kind & generous artists on here that I still want to support. But I don't feel comfortable posting much of my own work anymore with all of the very prevalent stolen art being posted & NFTers getting on the featured page seemingly every day. :/ Seriously what the fuck.

That being said, I'm going to take a bit of a hiatus from posting stuff. I have at least one more commission sheet I want to post(for icons & pfps), but after that I'm going to go silent for a while. I'll still check in on comments, notes, and commission inquiries if I receive any. But as of now art trades will be closed.

I'll still actively post on other platforms like my tumblr, instagram, and ko-fi which are all linked on my profile.

1. Do you Roleplay?

No. Not interested in that.

2. Do you draw fetish art?

Nope. And please don't ask me to. Receiving asks about drawing fetish/kink/nsfw content makes me very uncomfortable due to past experiences on here. And if you dare try to say that "fetishes aren't sexual" to me, you will be blocked on sight.

3. Do you do free art requests?

Not anymore. Art Trades & Commissions are open though unless I say otherwise.

4. Can we be friends?

If I've just met you or barely know you at all, then no. I like to get to know my mutuals for a while and get a feel for their vibe before I establish any kind of friendship. Please respect my boundaries. I do not mean any harm but I don't trust easily anymore. I hope that's fair. That being said feel free to try to get to know me and we can see where it goes from there!

5. Do you have a discord?

I indeed do! But much like my answer to the previous question I don't just give it to anyone.

If I like your vibes and we've been mutuals/friends for a while then I would be more open to exchanging that info.

6. Can I repost your art?

No. Even with the promise of credit, I am not fond of people reposting my own art on other platforms considering I already have multiple social medias where I post my art. Just liking my art and retweeting it , reblogging it, or sharing it on your instagram story is all I want.

7. Am I allowed to draw your OCs?

Of course!! As long as you don't draw anything explicit with them (like nsfw or extreme gore) and that you credit me as the OG creator of the character, you're more than allowed to. Please also tag me in it so I can see!

8. Can I RP/Write one of your OCs?

Uhhh no, sorry that just seems strange to me.

Hello everyone.

Unfortunately since my last post, it appears that AsiaNMunroeFan2024 is still going around scamming & spamming people for free art requests on a nearly every day basis, and it's only getting worse and worse.

During this time, even more people have commented their experiences and have even made full length journal entries about her with a ton of proof against her actions on my original call-out post about her. One thing that I did not know was apparently she has multiple alternative accounts on her that she uses to spam & scam even more people. Absolutely atrocious. I would also like to add that she tried making posts about me TWICE playing the victim card and has tried summoning her friends onto me(which I blocked all of them).

I have blocked her and reported her page for spamming & abuse, but because her scamming doesn't involve anything to do with money, they didn't do anything about it. They sent me a whole email and everything (which looked like an automated message) declining my report. ;/

That might change though if we get more people to report her page. Just because they didn't listen to me doesn't mean they can ignore all the other reports on her. So please, I beg you guys to please keep spreading the word warning others and to report her page so this nightmare can end. Just because they ignored and diregarded me doesn't mean they can turn everyone else away.

Here are even more posts exposing her for who she is, I advise you all to look through them at your own pace. There is absolutely no way she is not aware of what she's doing to these poor, unknowing artists. She has been called out many times and told to correct her behavior, but she's full of lies and keeps running off repeating the same horrible acts. Whether she's a minor or an adult, this behavior is wrong and it needs to stop.
